New Study: Sleep Talking Linked to Increased Stroke Risk!
1 Nov 2024 • Recent research has uncovered a startling connection between sleep talking and an increased risk of stroke.
- Over eight years, researchers tracked 8,001 participants, identifying 333 stroke cases.
- Those who sleep talked faced a 30% greater chance of having a stroke compared to their quiet counterparts.
- The risk was even greater ~ nearly doubled ~ among those with both sleep talking and probable REM sleep behavior disorder, with an adjusted hazard ratio of 1.93.
Future studies with cases of clinically confirmed sleep talking and a longer follow‐up is warranted to further investigate this association.
