About this session
Neurological emergencies can present with subtle early signs, but delays in recognition and initial management can have devastating consequences. For general practitioners and frontline clinicians, knowing what to identify, what to do immediately, and when to escalate is critical.
This practical, case-based session will provide a structured approach to the first 5–10 minutes of common neurological emergencies. The discussion will cover rapid neurological assessment, red flags, acute stroke and intracranial haemorrhage, seizures and status epilepticus, altered sensorium and coma, CNS infections, thunderclap headache, acute weakness, and acute vertigo. Through real-world scenarios, clinicians will learn to recognize, stabilize, investigate appropriately, and refer urgently—with a clear focus on decisions that can change outcomes.
