Leading Nephrologist and Professor of Kidney Medicine, University College London

Persistent hypertension despite treatment can often point towards underlying aldosterone-mediated mechanisms. This expert-led session will explore the role of aldosterone in difficult-to-control hypertension, approaches to identifying patients with aldosterone-driven disease, and evolving strategies for targeted management. The discussion will also examine the emerging role of Aldosterone Synthase Inhibitors (ASI) and their potential to address unmet needs in patients with persistently uncontrolled blood pressure. Featuring insights from Dr. Vijay Kher, Prof. Dr. David Wheeler, and Dr. A G Unnikrishnan, the session will focus on practical perspectives and the evolving evidence shaping the future of hypertension management.
