13 Aug 2025 • A genetic analysis reveals a bidirectional causal link between uveitis and psoriatic arthritis (PsA), with each condition increasing the risk of the other.

Genetically predicted uveitis raised PsA risk by 63% (OR 1.63), while PsA increased uveitis risk by 55% (OR 1.55).

These findings highlight shared inflammatory pathways between eye and joint disease, underscoring the need for earlier diagnosis and cross-specialty screening to improve outcomes in patients at risk for either condition.
