Rheumatoid Factor Levels Signal Elevated Risk for Interstitial Lung Disease in RA Patients
6 Aug 2025 • In a study of 4,736 rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients, rheumatoid factor (RF) positivity was linked to a 50% higher risk of RA-associated interstitial lung disease (RA-ILD) (adjusted OR 1.51).
Post propensity score matching in 1,018 patients, a clear nonlinear relationship emerged, with ILD risk rising sharply beyond an RF threshold of 60 IU/mL.
These findings underscore the need for routine RF monitoring and early ILD screening
