Reproductive History Tied to Elevated Osteoporosis Risk in Postmenopausal Women
1 Aug 2025 • A study of 141,000+ naturally postmenopausal women shows that reproductive factors modestly increase osteoporosis risk.
Infertility (HR=1.16), recurrent miscarriages (HR=1.17), stillbirth (HR=1.14), and no live births (HR=1.20) were all linked to higher risk, independent of menopause age.
These findings support including reproductive history in osteoporosis risk assessments to guide prevention in postmenopausal women.
