Systemic Sclerosis Increases Risk of Premature Ovarian Insufficiency in Young Women
18 Sept 2025 • In a real-world analysis of over 61 million females, 6,417 women with systemic sclerosis (SSc) were propensity-matched to controls, showing a 1.6-fold higher risk of premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) (HR 1.6).
The risk was most pronounced in women aged 30–40 years (HR 1.8), underscoring the importance of early ovarian function screening and proactive reproductive health management to preserve long-term quality of life in young women with SSc.
