CKM Dysfunction Significantly Increases Psoriasis Risk and Reduces Survival
21 Jul 2025 • A study of 392,454 adults found worsening cardiovascular–kidney–metabolic (CKM) health sharply raises psoriasis risk and shortens survival.
Compared to stage 0, psoriasis risk rose across CKM stages 1–4 (HRs: 1.21, 1.38, 1.64, 1.72), peaking at nearly threefold (HR 2.82) in stage 4 with high genetic risk.
Psoriasis patients with stage 4 CKM faced a 2‑year shorter life expectancy, underscoring the need for early metabolic and cardiovascular interventions.
