Hysterectomy Linked to Accelerated Aging—Kidney Function and Fiber Intake May Influence Risk
11 Jul 2025 • In a study of 4,974 women, hysterectomy was linked to higher rates of accelerated aging (13.55% vs. 10.62%) and elevated creatinine levels (75.56 vs. 66.41 µmol/L).
Post-hysterectomy, the odds of accelerated aging rose by 32% (OR 1.32), with kidney function mediating 16.7% of the risk.
Higher dietary fiber intake modestly reduced this risk by 5.92%.
Findings highlight the need for post-hysterectomy monitoring and dietary strategies to counteract aging-related effects.
