Tinnitus and Dizziness Strongly Linked to Chronic and Recurrent Headaches
10 Oct 2025 • A population-based study found that tinnitus and dizziness significantly increased the risk of both chronic and recurrent headaches in adults (mean age 50.4 years).
Key Findings:
- Chronic headaches occurred in 5.2% and recurrent headaches in 36.2%, typically beginning at 37.4 years.
- Women were at notably higher risk for chronic (OR 3.2) and recurrent headaches (OR 2.5) than men.
- Hypertension, head trauma, and epilepsy were additional independent predictors.
The results suggest a strong link between vestibular dysfunction, neurological comorbidities, and headache disorders, emphasizing the need for coordinated otolaryngology–neurology management.
