MMR Vaccine Beats Vitamin D in Wart Treatment with Higher Success Rates
8 May 2025 • A recent trial comparing intralesional measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine to vitamin D3 for treating warts showed that the MMR vaccine led to significantly better results.
Researchers observed complete resolution in 80.4% of patients receiving 0.3 mL MMR, compared to 66.1% in the vitamin D group (0.3 mL).
Patients receiving MMR reported more mild pain (96.4%) and itching at the injection site (12.5%). At 6 months, recurrence rates remained low and comparable (5.4% in the vitamin D vs. 3.6% in the MMR group).
