26 Jun 2025 • A large pediatric study suggests that nebulized tranexamic acid (TXA) may offer a safe and effective frontline option for managing post-tonsillectomy hemorrhage (PTH).

Patients who received nebulized TXA were significantly less likely to require surgical hemostasis compared to those who did not (26.0% vs 41.7%). TXA use reduced the odds of surgical intervention by 75% (OR=0.25). Hospital stay and readmission rates were similar across groups, and no TXA-related complications were reported.

These findings bolster the role of nebulized TXA as a promising non-invasive strategy in PTH management.
