Uric Acid Levels Linked to Elevated Skin Cancer Risk
9 Jun 2025 • Analysis of 1,219 participants reveals a significant association between elevated serum uric acid (SUA) levels and increased risks of malignant melanoma (MM) and non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC).
Each 1 mg/dL rise in SUA was linked to a 19% higher MM risk (OR=1.19) and a 13% higher NMSC risk (OR=1.13).
These findings suggest SUA may serve as a potential biomarker for skin cancer risk stratification.
